Kenyon delivers total client and end-user satisfaction at the re-opening of Kent House following major refurbishment works to this Grade II listed building.
The Kent House Project
On the 1st of June 2006 the Duke of Kent formally re-opened Kent House, a Grade II listed building, following a £500,000 Kenyon PLC refurbishment that returned the building to its original glory.
The Duke spent some time with resident Elsie Garrison. She was just a little girl 81 years ago when the Duke’s father performed the original opening ceremony.
Kent House is owned and managed by SPH Housing, part of the Origin Group.
The Kent House Building
A requirement of the upgrading was to restore the Grade II listed building’s original colours. The project brief also included 170 windows replaced with steel double glazing, balcony railing upgrades and other major repairs to comply with Decent Home and modern Health & Safety standards.
While it continues successfully to fulfil its original purpose of providing decent, affordable housing to people who need it, Kent House is still regularly visited by architects who come to admire its striking modernist features.
"Kenyon has been in Partnership with us for several years now, and the Kenyon Team’s abilities and passion have been brought to centre stage once again." - Khecho Assatourian, Project Officer, SPH Housing
