As a gesture of thanks to residents for their co-operation during internal works to their properties, Kenyon hosted a trip to Eltham Palace, South London.
The company’s site team hired a minibus which took residents from Westferry Estate on a day trip to one of the most important medieval palaces in England. Kenyon's Heather Harper said; "It was a good opportunity to get to know residents away from site and to provide them with something over and above the contract specifications".
The company donated £250 to the Residents' Association fund, matched by the same amount from EastendHomes, the client, as a gesture of thanks for use of their meeting room for resident coffee mornings during the works period.
Eltham Palace survives with substantial remains intact. In 1305 Edward ii acquired what was then a moated manor house. Edward iv made significant changes, adding the Great Hall in the 1470s. Today, Eltham Palace is managed by English Heritage and is open to the public.
One of the attending residents said; "My son and I have never been to Eltham Palace, even though it's only a few miles away. It was good of Kenyon to lay this on for us". When asked about the works carried out, another resident commented; "All of your staff were excellent. Thank you for all the hard work".
